Inter IKEA Systems signs letter of intent
Delft, the Netherlands
3 June 2015
In order to meet future challenges and opportunities for IKEA, Inter IKEA Systems Holding B.V. and INGKA Holding B.V. (the holding company of IKEA Group) have signed a Letter of Intent to transfer the range, supply and production activities to Inter IKEA Systems.
The tasks to set the IKEA product range and manage the supply chain are currently assigned to companies in IKEA Group, based on agreements with Inter IKEA Systems B.V. These services are mainly provided by IKEA of Sweden AB and IKEA Supply AG.
IKEA Industry will also be part of the transaction, as production is closely linked to Range and Supply.
“We believe it is a good time to do this change as we have a positive development in the IKEA business worldwide and can continue to build from our strengths in people, performance and plans. We are convinced the change will make it possible to build a strong and dynamic IKEA for tomorrow.” says Torbjörn Lööf, CEO Inter IKEA Systems B.V.
The ambition is to simplify and improve the IKEA franchise system, creating better conditions for increased customer focus and future expansion. There will be no redundancies of people due to this transaction.
The transaction will be completed 31 August 2016.
